Now what?

Ever wake up naked and not know how you got there?

Trying to figure out how Obama got into the white house is about as fruitless.

How we got here isn't important. We are here.

I'm not proud of where we are, but there is no going back, only going forward.

These next few years would be tough no matter who was in office. We have to give this guy a chance to see what he can do. He has everything he should need to be successful.

I'm not one to spend alot of time looking backward - let's put our panties on, grab a drink and see where we end up next.

If the "here" you're referring to is Barack Obama's presidency, you need to look no further than the legacy of the Bush administration (please see http://horsetoothjackass.blogspot.com/). The irony is, is that if Bush's approval rating wasn't so abyssmal, which it is, he could've been out campaigning for the Republican candidate and maybe have gotten him elected. Instead, he was relegated to keeping his mouth shut because being associated with him at this point would guarantee a loss. He essentially has handed the Senate, Congress, and the White House over to the Democrats as a result of his piss poor performance, and which in my humble opinion is an overbalance of power. A paradigm shift has taken place in American politics, and like it or not, the people have spoken. To be sure, Obama has been handed a big shit sandwich of an economy, but his presumed "plan" to get us back on track apparently resonated with enough people to get him elected. The Bush/Cheney/Rove version of "Republican" now seems so archaic.

See, now you are trying to figure out how we got here. I think that the media has held Bush to a differernt standard than it held other presidents to. Look at successes of the Bush admin. Our families have not had to deal with any attacks on this country during those 8 Bush yars.
